The voice of Sony/Relativity artist Barracuda, singer/songwriter PATRICK PULVER has a serious addiction to making music. It runs through his vains and it is made quite clear looking back on his long prestigious career. PATRICK first started singing and playing guitar at age 9, following in the family tradition of so many professional musicians before him. He made his recording debut at age 16 signing to an independent label in Chicago “Those early years of recording were a huge education for me. We recorded on this old Otari 1 inch 8 track tape machine. It was a very exciting time in my life, and I remember thinking to myself, my god this is how the Beatles did it.”
As fate would have it, he soon became the voice and bass guitarist of Sony/Relativity recording artist BARRACUDA. His first big break came at the age of 23 when he met Jim Scully of CBS records. Scully hooked PULVER up with famed producer and manager Bob Monaco who had produced Rufus and Chaka Kahn as well as Three Dog Night. This series of meetings and friendships ultimately lead to the success of BARRACUDA and ultimately his solo career as well touring and gaining accolades from both fans and critics alike.
With the release of their first cd "Open Fire" in 1989, BARRACUDA toured heavily. Domestic and overseas radio began spinning BARRACUDA'S first 2 hits, Memory, and Superhero. MTV gave them a huge push forward with a string of videos running on the original Headbangers Ball. Europe fell for BARRACUDA in a big way during the 1990's. Sony included BARRACUDA on a string of soundtracks and compilation releases through the years, and BARRACUDA maintained a concrete foundation of fans all over the world. In 2006, "Unacceptable Practices" continued BARRACUDA'S legacy with that signature heavy melodic sound they had always been known for. Recorded with producers Chris Steinmetz (Kiss, Smashing Pumpkins, Kanye West), the final work from BARRACUDA featured commercial hits a-plenty and was dubbed “a rock monster with heavy guitar and thick high vocals” by Billboard Magazine. Eleven tracks total, the disk contained 2 live tracks, and the hit anthem "Brothers" which was dedicated to our men and women of the armed forces during the early stages of our conflict in the Middle East.
Today PULVER continues to tour and record with various artists that he has become friends with over the years. Encouraged by the warm reception he has received over his latest release on Steel Heart Records, PULVER is again on the road performing and doing what he loves the most, making music.
